Info: Cape Verde or Cabo Verde, officially the Republic of Cabo Verde, is an island country spanning an archipelago of 10 volcanic islands in the central Atlantic Ocean.
It forms part of the Macaronesia ecoregion, along with the Azores, Canary Islands, Madeira, and the Savage Isles.
On 30 September 1768, James Cook saw the Island of Bonavista (one of the Cape Verd Islands).

Bonne succeeded Jacques Bellin as Royal Cartographer to France in the office of the Hydrographer at the Depôt de la Marine in 1773.
Working in his official capacity, Bonne compiled some of the most detailed and accurate maps of the period.
