Title: Plan of the Battle of Wynendale, between the Troops of the Allies commanded by Major Gen. Webb, & those of France, under Count De La Motte, Sept 28, 1708.

The Battle of Wijnendale was a battle in the War of the Spanish Succession fought on 28 September 1708 near Wijnendale, Flanders, between an allied force protecting a convoy for the Siege of Lille (1708) and forces of Bourbon France and Spain. It ended in a victory for the allies, leading to the taking of Lille.

Paul de Rapin (25 March 1661– 25 April 1725), sieur of Thoyras (and therefore styled Thoyras de Rapin), was a French historian writing under English patronage.

Origin: History of England, translated by Tindal.
The first volumes of his history of England—in French—were published in 1723; the last two appeared and were completed in 1725.
