Antique print, The Battle of Craonne was fought on 7 March 1814 and resulted in a French victory under Napoleon I against Russians and Prussians under General Blücher.

Artist: (Yung) Théodore Rousseau (1803-65), a military painter, his works were made for the Ministry of War.
The young Théodore Rousseau, founder of the Barbizon school, exhibited works from 1831 to 1835 at the Salon de Paris.
