The Battle of Somosierra held November 30, 1808 during the Spanish Civil War. A Spanish army wide shorthanded defensive position in the gorge in the Sierra Guadarrama Somosierra north of Madrid, is beaten. This victory allowed Napoleon to take Madrid.
