The Battle of Montmirail was a battle fought near Montmirail France during the Six Days Campaign of the Napoleonic Wars.
It was fought on 11 February 1814 and resulted in the victory of the French under Emperor Napoleon I.

Artist: (Yung) Théodore Rousseau (1803-65), a military painter, his works were made for the Ministry of War.
The young Théodore Rousseau, founder of the Barbizon school, exhibited works from 1831 to 1835 at the Salon de Paris.
