Battle of Fuentes de Oñoro was fought May 3-5, 1811, in the Peninsular War which was part of the larger Napoleonic Wars.
Artist: (Yung) Théodore Rousseau (1803-65), a military painter, his works were made for the Ministry of War. The young Théodore Rousseau, founder of the Barbizon school, exhibited works from 1831 to 1835 at the Salon de Paris.
