The Battle of Arcis-sur-Aube (20–21 March 1814) was Napoleon’s penultimate battle before his abdication and exile to Elba (the last was the Battle of Saint-Dizier).

(Yung) Théodore Rousseau (1803-65), a military painter, his works were made for the Ministry of War.
The young Théodore Rousseau, founder of the Barbizon school, exhibited works from 1831 to 1835 at the Salon de Paris.
