Description: French Military Religious Order.

The College of Mercedarian (or Order of Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci) is a Catholic religious order founded in Barcelona in 1218 by the Languedoc Saint Peter Nolasco, causing prisoners to ransom Christians "infidels".
Here are two types called redeemers in the Church of which the main action was to issue from the hands of "infidel" Christians in captivity: one is the Trinitarian Order (or Order of the Most Holy Trinity the redemption of captives) and the other founded a few years later, is the College of Mercedarian (or Order of Our Lady of Mercy). Today, they help the fortunes of all kinds, visit prisoners and the sick. dar of Saints in 1969. Some continue to use the pre-1970.

After spending his youth in study, Helyot entered in his twenty-fourth year the convent of the third, order of St Francis, founded at Picpus, near Paris, by his uncle Jérhme, Helyot, canon of St Sepulchre. There he took the name of Père Hippolyte.

Origin: L'Histoire desordres monastiques, religieux et militaires, et des congregations séculières del'un et de l'autre sexe, qui ont été établis jusqu'à présent, published in 5volumes in 1714-1721.
Helyot died on January 5, 1716, before the fifth volume appeared, but his friend Maximilien Bullot completed the edition.
Helyot's onlyother noteworthy work is Le Chritien maurani (1695).
