Description: Striking antique Bible map shows the travels of St. Paul and apostles from Jerusalem to Rome. Full colored panels surrounding the map with Bible scenes from the life of St. Paul. In red line the path of Apostle Paul from Canaan to Italy, included the shipwreck off the island of Malta. The map was Copperplate engraved and colored by hand.

Creator: Joseph Moxon (8 August 1627 – February 1691), hydrographer to Charles II, was an English printer specialising in mathematical books and maps, a maker of globes and mathematical instruments, and mathematical lexicographer. In 1652, Moxon visited Amsterdam and commissioned the engraving of globe-printing plates by Nicolas Visscher, and by the end of the year was selling large celestial and terrestrial globes in a new business venture. He specialized in the printing of maps and charts, and in the production of globes, and mathematical instruments made of paper.
Origin: The Holy Bible, Containing the Old and New Testaments... by Moxon, Joseph. First Dutch edition of the map was created in 1642 by Nicolaes Visscher.
