Title: Jo Si Wo Entre Tyen Tsing Wey et Peking, tiree de Nieuhof.

China print, created in the 18th century based on Johan Nieuhof.
The map is an original copperplate gravure with hand coloring.

Artist: Antoine-François Prevost, " L`Histoire Generale des Voyages" Published by Pierre de Hondt, The Hague between 1747 -1780.

Johan Nieuhof was a Dutch traveler who wrote about his journeys to Brazil, China and India.
The most famous of these was a trip of 2,400 km from Canton to Peking in 1655-1657, which enabled him to become an authoritative Western writer on China.
