Title: La Frise.

Description:
Friesland map, historically known as Frisia, in the North of the Netherlands near the Wadden Sea. This detailed map shows the cities, villages, lakes and land plots, as well as the sandbanks on the Lauwer and South (North) sea.

Mapmaker: George Louis Le Rouge (1740-1779)
Active from 1740- till 1785 as a publisher for the King of France.
He specialized in atlases of fortifications and plans of cities.

Origin: Atlas Nouveau Portatif à l'usage des militaires et du voyageur Isles de la Sonde.

Technic: Etching / engraving on hand laid paper.
