The seven-year war from 1756 to 1763, in Germany especially with the struggles of Prussia under Frederick II ("the Great" is set) against the allied armies of Austria, Russia and France immediately. In principle, the continental European theater of war was only one of several hot spots in the battle of the two leading global colonial powers Britain and France for supremacy. Some historians even go so far as to speak of the first "World War"
