Hand colored old print of Hattem Gelderland showing the attack in August 1606 of Hattem near Zwolle The Netherlands.
The map was originally published in the 1581 (Italian) and 1582 (French) editions of the 'Discrittione di tutti i Paesi Bassi' by L. Guicciardini.

The Eighty Years' War, or Dutch War of Independence, (1568–1648) began as a revolt of the Seventeen Provinces against Philip II of Spain, the sovereign of the Habsburg Netherlands.
