The map highlights the sea-tracks of James Cook's ships Resolution and Adventure in 1773 1774, and on later on his third voyage the Resolution and Discovery in 1777. Relief is shown by hachures and soundings.
Hogg, Alexander, fl. 1778–1819. Hogg was one of the few men who served with both Cook and Nelson, accompanying the latter in his Nile and Copenhagen campaigns.
