Early woodblock print of Saint Corbinian (c. 670 - September 8, c. 730) a Frankish bishop.
His feast day is September 8. The commemoration of the translation of his relics is November 20.
A beautiful 17th-century colored Woodcut illustration.

Master artist: Sebastian Munster (1488-1552) is one of the most important and famous mapmakers of the mid-sixteenth century, and published two books, an edition of Ptolemy's Geographia, in 1540, with 48 double-page woodcut maps, and his Cosmographia, published in 1544,which contained upwards of five hundred woodcuts, including 24 double-page maps.
In 1540 he published a Latin edition of Ptolemy's Geographia with illustrations. The 1550 edition contains cities, portraits, and costumes. These editions, printed in Germany, are the most valued of the Cosmographias.
Münster also wrote the Dictionarium trilingue in Latin, Greek, and Hebrew and Mappa Europae (map of Europe) in 1536. He died at Basel of the plague in 1552.
He was pictured on the old 100 DM banknotes that were replaced at the beginning of the 1990s.
