The enthusiasm for Hafis had been sparked in Germany by Goethe's "West-Eastern Divan", in whose succession poets such as Friedrich Rückert and August von Platen published translations and re-seals. It was built in 1866 and is now in the Pfalzgalerie Kaiserslautern.
