Title: Die Statt Paris etlicher maß figuriert und contrafehret nach jetziger Gelegenheit.

Description: This old map of Paris features city walls, a woodcut with two coat of arms, the River Seine (Saquana), and ancient monuments still in use today.
Sebastian Munster's map is the oldest printed cityscape of Paris.
It was created by the woodcut artist Hans Rudolf Manuel and published in Book III: Germany 1561 by Henricus Petrus.

Cartographer: Sebastian Munster (1488-1552). He worked as a lecturer at the University of the Franciscan Order in Tübingen, where he studied astrology under the famous astronomer Johannes Stöffler, in addition to his main work, the Cosmographia.

Publisher: Henricus Petrus (1508–1579) and his son Sebastian Henric Petri (1546, Basel – 1627, Basel) headed the printer shop of Basel (Basilea in Latin), called Officina Henricpetrina.
