German Old City Plan - Augsburg in Swabia by Peter Schenk, 1702
Title: Ausburg in Swabenland aan de Leck…

This antique town plan of Augsburg, Germany, located in the historic region of Swabia along the Lech River, is a finely detailed copperplate engraving with hand coloring. The map beautifully captures the layout of the city and its surrounding area.

His workshop was likely continued by his sons Jan and Leonard in Amsterdam. His daughter Maria married Leonard Valck, son of Gerard Valck, who carried on Gerard’s engraving legacy.
