Artist: Frederik de Wit. Frederick de Wit 1629-1706 was known as a map publisher, engraver and map seller. He worked in Amsterdam in the Kalverstraat (the dry Crabben) until 1654 and then in the Witte Paskaert from 1655 to 1706. Upon his death in 1706, the company was continued for a while by his widow Maria until 1709. In 1710, De Wit's plates were sold to Mortier, Van der Aa and Renard. This map was printed by Pieter van der AA (1659-1733) in 1729 Pieter van der Aa was a Dutch publisher best known for preparing maps and atlases, he also printed pirated editions of foreign bestsellers and illustrated volumes.
