The Giant's Causeway Old print Northern Ireland 1785
Titled: Vue occidentale de la Chaussee des Geans et des Caps voisins.
Old copper print of the The Giants Causeway located on the coast of Northern Ireland. The Giant's Causeway and its coast is a spectacular area of global geological significance located on the sea coast at the edge of the Antrim Tableland in Northern Ireland. The most characteristic and distinctive element of the site consists in the exposure of approximately 40,000 large basalt columns of regular polygonal shape and perfect horizontal section forming a pavement. This spectacular setting has inspired legends of giants striding across the sea to reach Scotland. Celebrated in arts and science, the site has attracted visitors for at least 300 years, to the point of being considered a symbol of Northern Ireland.
