Antique copperplate engraved map in hand coloring by De Lisle/Albrizzi.
The map is full detail, with historical place names, island and windrose with mile scale.
Map was published in atlas Atlante Novissimo che Contiene Tutte le Parti del Mondo" published in Venice in 1740. The "Atlante Novissimo" was a significant atlas that contained maps of various parts of the world.

Publisher:Giovanni Battista Albrizzi (1698–1777).
Guillaume Delisle (1675–1726) was an important cartographer of the 18th century who had taken his first steps with his father Claude (1644-1720), historian of the king, and had completed his training with Jean- Dominique Cassini (1625-1712), who in 1703 was appointed astronomer of the Académie des Sciences. De L'Isle himself was awarded the same honor in 1718. Morazzoni 226. (2)
Albrizzi, Giovanni Battista. - Son of Jerome and brother of Almorò, he was also a printer and publisher in Venice.
