This early antique map provides a detailed plan of Marienbourg and its surrounding areas, including Philipeville, Remy, Chimay, and other notable locations. The map highlights the city’s fortifications and the surrounding geography.

Cartographer: Sebastien de Pontault, Seigneur de Beaulieu, a distinguished French engineer and cartographer. Beaulieu was renowned for his meticulously detailed maps and fortress plans and is recognized as one of the first military topographers during the reign of Louis XIV.

Origin: Les plans et profils des principales villes et lieux considérables de la principauté de Catalogne, du comté de Roussillon, Conflant & Cerdagne. Paris: Beaulieu, circa 1688.
