Description:
This antique copperplate engraved map depicts the Gulf of Bothnia, located between Sweden and Finland. The map was crafted by Jacques Nicolas Bellin, a renowned French mapmaker, and was published as part of Antoine-François Prévost's monumental Histoire Générale des Voyages.

Cartographer/Mapmaker:
Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703 – 1772), a French hydrographer and member of the Académie de Marine and the Royal Society of London. His works are widely featured in L`Histoire Générale des Voyages.

Origin:
From Histoire Générale des Voyages, published by Pierre de Hondt, The Hague (1747–1780).

Authenticity:
This is an authentic antique copperplate engraving. A Certificate of Authenticity is available upon request.

Sheet approx.: 19.5 x 23.5 cm (7.75 x 9.25 inches).
Image approx.: 17 x 21.5 cm (6.75 x 8.5 inches).

Condition:
A very good folded map with part of the border redone.
