The map is copperplate engraved with hand coloring in outline.

The 1743 Le Rouge plates were acquired by Crepy, who re-issued them in Paris, often putting his imprint & another date in the cartouche/ title area.

Origin: Atlas Nouveau Portatif à l'usage des militaires et du voyageur Isles de la Sonde,issued Paris.

Cartographer: George Louis Le Rouge.
Active from 1740- till 1785 as a publisher for the King of France.
