Description:
This antique map depicts the plan of Cuzco during the Spanish conquest. Cuzco, located in the Peruvian Andes, was once the capital of the Inca Empire and remains the capital of the region and province of Cuzco. This historical map offers a glimpse into the layout of the city during a pivotal moment in its history.

Cartographer:
Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703 – 1772), born in Paris, was the hydrographer for France’s hydrographic office and a prominent cartographer of his time. His work is featured in L`Histoire Générale des Voyages, published by Pierre de Hondt in The Hague between 1747 and 1780.
