Titled: Carte Ideale du Brabant de 1746 et 1747

Description:
Interesting map of The Duchy of Brabant, it developed from the Landgraviate of Brabant and formed the heart of the historic Low Countries,
part of the Burgundian Netherlands from 1430 and of the Habsburg Netherlands from 1482, until it was partitioned after the Dutch revolt.
Original antique engraving, hand colored with information columns at top.

Mapmaker: George Louis Le Rouge (1740-1779)
Active from 1740- till 1785 as a publisher for the King of France.
He specialized in atlases of fortifications and plans of cities.

Origin: Atlas Nouveau Portatif à l'usage des militaires et du voyageur Isles de la Sonde.
Technic: Etching / engraving on hand laid paper.
