History: The "Retraite des Dix Mille" (Retreat of the Ten Thousand) is an event from ancient history that took place around 401-399 BC. It was a military campaign led by a Greek mercenary army, often referred to as the "Ten Thousand," who fought as part of the army of Cyrus the Younger, a Persian prince. The campaign is detailed in the famous historical work, "Anabasis," written by the Greek historian Xenophon.
