Description: 17th-century woodcut map of Cyprus, the map is based on the map of Matheo Pagano, there are only three place names recorded: Nicosia, Ceraunia and Famagosta and a title mare Aegyptinum (Egyptian Sea) A further image shows the Cyprus deer, (The Persian fallow deer Dama dama mesopotamica) they were introduced to Cyprus in the pre-pottery Neolithic, if not earlier.
