Deventer, Jacob Roelofs van (1510/15–1575) was a Dutch cartographer of the Renaissance.
He is today best known for his work in systematically carto graphing all Dutch towns and floor plans of his time. Jacob Roelofs van Deventer was known for his unique style of mapping.
In the 16th century On request of Phillip II, Jacob mapped out the cities in the Netherlands. Maps of 226 cities in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Germany have been handed down. Further had drafted the maps of the five Dutch provinces of Holland, Gelre, Brabant, Friesland and Zeeland. He became in 1543 Royal Geographer.
